Pompoms is a fast casual restaurant that cooks up fresh & delicious fries the old fashioned way: twice cooked, crisped to perfection, and using locally-sourced potatoes ensure quality and freshness. Customers can enjoy their fries with different sauces and toppings to tickle your tastebuds, with every batch made from scratch with love and little bit of whimsy.

THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION

French fries have always been the ultimate comfort food. Everybody eats fries, everybody loves fries. You can find fries almost anywhere, from fast food chains to burger joints—and even the frozen aisle in supermarkets. That in itself was a challenge. Fries were such a staple that we needed to make sure Pompoms stood out from your average potato. We needed to communicate that Pompoms was the French Fry Master.

Our strategy for this brand was to own being obsessed with fries. Thus, "fries is life" was the brand's mantra. This passion for fries was our sole focus, helping us create a look that evoked a playful obsession with the classic fried snack. The logo itself is a testament to the brand's passion for fries: a hedgehog-inspired critter of what we thought fries would look like if they were brought to life.

There was a lot of room for imagination, which manifested itself in many key visuals from the quirky logo, to the brand's packaging, down to the overall look and feel of the space. We made sure that Pompoms' fun-loving identity was consistently portrayed even in the brand tone. The brand's personality, fun and cheeky, was injected into various collaterals from the menu, with sizes from smallin', tallin' and ballin', to the posters on the walls.

 We enjoyed playing around with a lot of the brand elements, especially the hedgehog which we illustrated doing different activities.

Pompoms has definitely ticked the box on "Instagrammable", with customers quick to take photos of the facade, packaging, and interiors. The store has been busy since it first opened in January 2018.
